My burning finger

I have peripheral neuropathy, which is just a fancy way of saying my hands and feet go numb. Sometimes they burn too, as though I was resting them on a hot stove and just decided not to take them off.

My left pointer finger has been burning like this for three days now. It's not really a problem per se, although it is really annoying and another reminder that my body is mad at me (well, I guess that's not really true since it's being attacked).

The thing is that I can't do anything about it. It's not like I actually burned my finger and can do something to help ease the pain. And in reality, it isn't even my finger that has a problem... it's my brain. There's no neosporin for that, unfortunately.

I *should* have a good week. I'm nearing the end of my flare up and preparing for the big fall around the 1st (it's when my exhaustion really peaks- think Kellen's birthday party). But I'm not sure yet how the antibiotics will play into all of this. I'm still hoping for my few good days.

  1. (((Hugs))) Brooke. I couldn't imagine a constant pain or numbness in one of my body parts. Does this affect your ability to use that hand/foot?

  2. Not really, though I did realize that I needed to be more careful about going to workout when that happened. I am much clumsier, which is hard to accomplish, and I drop things a lot. That's definitely more problematic.
